Home Utility Ltd provides appliance installation and repair, plumbing, heating, and electrical services across London. All gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers (Registration No. 974833).

We endeavour to provide services to the highest standard and in accordance with all applicable UK regulations and industry standards.

3. Pricing & Payment

We provide transparent pricing and will give you a clear quote before commencing work. All prices quoted are inclusive of labour unless otherwise stated.

Home Utility Ltd is VAT registered. VAT will be charged where applicable in accordance with UK tax regulations.

Additional costs may arise if further issues are discovered during the course of a repair. In such cases, we will seek your approval before proceeding.

Payment is due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4. Your Right to Cancel (Cooling-Off Period)

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, if you book a service online, by phone, or away from our business premises, you have a 14-day cooling-off period during which you may cancel the contract without giving any reason.

The cancellation period expires 14 days after the day the contract is entered into.

If you have requested that services begin during the cancellation period, you shall pay an amount proportionate to the work completed before cancellation is communicated.

5. Bookings & Appointments

Bookings can be made via our website, phone, or email. We will confirm your appointment and provide an estimated time of arrival.

While we make every effort to keep to scheduled times, delays may occasionally occur due to the nature of emergency and repair work. We will notify you of any significant delays as soon as possible.

6. Cancellations (Outside Cooling-Off Period)

Outside the statutory cooling-off period, you may cancel or reschedule an appointment by giving us at least 24 hours’ notice.

  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.
  • Emergency callouts are non-cancellable once an engineer has been dispatched.

7. Consumer Rights

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, services must be carried out:

  • With reasonable care and skill
  • Within a reasonable time (if no time is agreed)
  • At a reasonable price (if no price is agreed)

If a service does not meet these standards, you have the right to request:

  • A repeat performance
  • A price reduction if repeat performance is not possible

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

8. Guarantees & Warranties

All repair and installation work carried out by Home Utility Ltd comes with a workmanship guarantee. The duration of the guarantee will be specified at the time of service.

Parts supplied by us are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

This guarantee does not cover:

  • Misuse
  • Accidental damage
  • Normal wear and tear

This guarantee is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights.

9. Liability

Home Utility Ltd carries full public liability insurance. We are not liable for:

  • Pre-existing faults
  • Damage caused by third parties
  • Issues arising from customer-owned equipment outside the agreed scope of work

Our total liability shall not exceed the value of the services provided.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence
  • Fraud
  • Any liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded

10. Customer Responsibilities

Customers must ensure safe and reasonable access to the work area. You are responsible for providing accurate information about the issue requiring attention.

  • Securing pets during the engineer’s visit
  • Providing access at the agreed appointment time

If access cannot be provided at the agreed time, a missed appointment fee may apply.

12. Governing Law
